Anthony Kapel "Van" Jones (b. 20 Sept 1968) is an environmental advocate, civil rights activist, and attorney; he also co-founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in 1996, Color of Change in 2005, and Green For All in 2007. His first book, The Green Collar Economy, was released on 7 October 2008, and in March of 2009, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to the newly created position of Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Jones appeared as a guest commentator on the third Current TV edition of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, discussing the cease-and-desist letter that his attorney sent to Fox News demanding an end to the "sensational and inflammatory charges" being made by Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly.
