David Weigel (b. 26 Sept 1981), is a journalist with Slate magazine and MSNBC. From April through June of 2010 he wrote a weblog for The Washington Post website focusing on the conservative and Tea Party movements and the Republican Party's preparations for the 2010 midterm elections. He has written for Reason, USA Today, The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Independent, Time.com, The Guardian, The American Prospect, The American Conservative, The American Spectator, The Washington Monthly, Politico, and The Nation.

Weigel appeared on the 13 January 2011 edition of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, discussing the unexpectedly negative reactions by conservative commentators and politicians to Sarah Palin's Tucson speech, in which she absurdly portrayed herself as a victim of "blood libel."

On the 19 January 2011 edition, he discussed Joe Lieberman's retirement announcement, in which the Connecticut Senator called the invasion of Iraq a "strong bipartisan American foreign and defense polic[y]," and compared his politics to those of John F. Kennedy.
